Well, it's been two years now blogger..that's so hard to believe!!
First and most importantly..........
Hunter Bradley went home to be with our Lord on December 22nd. His little heart could not fight anymore. He passed peacefully while snuggled in his mama's arms.
We had the funeral on the 27th, my sister was wonderful and shared some wonderfully written words. Baby Hunter is buried in a place called the Garden of Angels, a place of resting for only children.
I am so blessed that I was able to hold him as well, if only his tiny body, as he had already passed. So tiny and so perfect. Perfect little features. I couldn't stop kissing his tiny little forehead, and dropped plenty of Auntie tears upon his blankie.
Well, I just wanted to share that and wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!
Rest in Peace sweet baby Hunter, sleep in the quiet big arms of our Lord.

Thoughts............
WHEW! So many things running through my mind.
Baby Hunter is hanging in there, he's run into a few obstacles. No word yet on the infection. He does have some blood on his brain, they rate this on a scale of 1-5, 1 being minimal and 5 being major. Hunter is at a 2 right now. This is still 'safe' they are being told.
He is peeing!! This is a good sign. He's also still doing quite a bit of breathing on his own, another good sign.
My sister is having a rough time, but you can imagine what she's going through, especially if you're a Mama. Oh, how I feel for her. It is absolutely heartbreaking to hear her so sad and feeling helpless. Don't get me wrong, she's being strong, but it's still rough. I mean, she has the urge and the need to pick him up and snuggle him close, all the things we get to enjoy with our newborns. Yet, she can't, she can only reach through and stroke his little fingers and legs. I wish I was there with her, just to hold her. I know she really needs that. Our Mom just isn't much of a help in that department. Brad is doing good, but it's just not the same as that female connection. Some have it with their mothers, but her and I have it with each other.
I try so hard not to break down on the phone with her, but that lump in my throat just swells more and more. I don't know what to say, I can't say I know exactly how she feels, only what I can imagine she feels. We try to avoid the what if's, and focus on the good things. We both know it's reality, but if even just for that second we can forget it and just talk about the future and what little Hunter will do!!
I'm really hoping to go spend the day with them on Friday, have lunch and coffee with my sister and visit with my nephew. Let him know that his auntie loves him very much as do his uncle and cousins. Let him know that we can't wait to see him running around and doing all those toddler things and chasing his cousins around.
I will take pictures and post some as soon as I am able, with of course Christmas pictures.
Gosh, Christmas keeps getting closer and closer and I'm not near done what I had wanted. I think tomorrow will be a finish up the baking day. I had to cheap out on a few things. Usually I bake my cinnamon buns from scratch, but this year, they are coming out of a can and I fear I may hear giggle and whoo-hoo as I open the can!
My gingerbread is coming out of a tube and the sugar cookies will come out of a package. But, oh well, it's the way it goes sometimes. I will be making the shortbread from scratch because somehow I always manage to mess up the packaged mixes!! Go figure! The kids seem to be getting over their colds really well. Bill is feeling as though he is coming down with it, me, I'm praying that I will be able to stay healthy so that I can go and visit Kandie and Hunter!!
Well, I suppose I should really tuck myself into bed.
Please keep Kandie, Brad and of course baby Hunter in your thoughts and prayers.
Tonight or tomorrow, do me a favor.........if you have little ones, give them an extra snuggle and kiss, they are such precious blessings.
God bless,
Penny

URGENT Prayer request .....again
If I have your email address, then you already know what is going on. Those of you who read and I don't have your email, I urgently need your prayer/thoughts for my sister and Brad.
Their baby was born via emergency c-section this morning. Baby Hunter was born at 25wks and weighed in at 1.5lbs.
My sister's water broke early this morning and when they arrived at the hospital they discovered that she was also dilated to 1cm. Her contractions began to pick up very quickly and Baby Hunter was showing signs of distress and so the safest thing to do was an emergency c-section because he was breech. he was born just a little past 10:30am MST today, December 19th.
As of the last time I spoke with my sister (6:40pm MST) Baby Hunter was undergoing a spinal tap because he has a serious blood infection and they need to pinpoint the source of the infection. Baby Hunter is receiving IV antibiotics.
I haven't heard anything else yet, (it's 9:15pm MST here) but I will update as I can.
If you pray, I humbly beg for you to pray for them. If you don't pray then please keep them in your thoughts and close to your heart.
I will send out updates by email as frequently as I can, if you would like to receive email updates and send your wishes/thoughts/prayers to me, I will pass along everything to them, send me a note with your email address and I will let you know as I find out things.
Thank you so much and may the Lord keep my sister safe and strong and keep tiny baby Hunters in His strong hands.
God bless,
Penny

Happy Birthday Alyssa!!!
Alyssa turned 7 today!! WOW! Such a big girl!!
Quick update because I am exhausted, all the kids are sick and all at once. I guess it's a good thing that it's now instead of a week from now!!
I'm so behind on everything, my kitchen is a disaster as is the rest of the house.UGH! I can't function when it's like this, it drives me crazy!
I also had to go to the clinic yesterday.....had lot's of ear/throat pain, turns out I have an ear infection!! Good grief!!
My sister is back home yet again. The poor girls has been to the hospital twice since she was let go after her surgery. Apparently the little man is trying to be an escape artist! The first time she was having contractions 4min apart and they were able to stop them. Then this morning she started bleeding and was having contractions again, so back to the hospital they go. They managed to stop the contractions again, but she was let go tonight with the understanding that she needs to REST!!!
please keep them in your prayers. She is 24wks along, so it is not time for baby to come out yet, no matter how badly HE wants to!!
Well, I'm off to HOPEFULLY get a few hours of sleep, thank goodness the kids are all done school until Jan.9th!!
Unfortunately I have to do something with Mount Laundry that has taken over my bed before I can crawl into it!!!GRRRRR!! I hate it when I do that!
Oh, I updated the food blog with our Christmas Menu, I will try to get the recipes up here in the next day or two....hopefully!!!
Have a blessed Monday!!

Had to Share this.........
This was sent to me by a dear cyber sister and I wanted to share it with all my blogger friends. I thought it's message to be a very important one!!
I will try to get on later to give an update, Mariah is very sick right now with an upper respiratory infection and I've been up all night with her because she also has croup...
Have a blessed Friday!!!
THE CHRISTMAS TEN COMMANDMENTS
1. Thou shalt give thy heart to Christ. Let Him be at the top of thy
Christmas list
2. Thou shalt prepare thy soul for Christmas. Spend not so much on gifts
that thy soul is forgotten.
3. Thou shalt not let Santa Claus replace Christ, thus robbing the day
of its spiritual reality.
4. Thou shalt not burden the shop girl, the mailman, and the merchant
with complaints and demands.
5. Thou shalt give thyself with thy gift. This will increase its value a
hundred fold, and he who receiveth it shall treasure it forever.
6. Thou shalt not value gifts received by their cost. Even the least
expensive may signify love, and that is more priceless than silver and
gold.
7. Thou shalt not neglect the needy. Share thy blessings with many who
will go hungry and cold unless thou are generous.
8. Thou shalt not neglect thy church. Its services highlight the true
meaning of the season.
9. Thou shalt be as a little child. Not until thou has become in spirit
as a little one art thou ready to enter into the kingdom of Heaven.
10. Thou shall not forget to share your joy, peace and faith with those
around you.

Update......
Nothing much to report yet. I just talked to Brad around 6pm MST and the docs aren't too sure what they want to do. They're waiting for blood tests to come back, I guess then they'll make a decision.
During the US they couldn't find her appendix, which has led them to believe that it may have burst if this is the root of her pain...ARGH!!! The big sister in me in fired up!!! They couldn't find my appendix either, and the technician that was doing my US kept telling me to stop crying....grrrr!!! When they finally did get my appendix out, the surgeon later told me it was the size of his hand and covered in green pus. (sorry TMI, I know) if you the size of a regular appendix (think about the size of your pinky) and mine had blown to the same proportion as a fully grown man's hand length and width and yet it was nowhere to be seen on the sono...well....you'd know why I'm so terrified.
I'm really not enjoying sitting waiting around to hear news about someone and their appendix every year before Christmas......Alex last year.....ugh!
Alright, I'm going to go and try to call someone's cell and see if they have it on and if I can find out more. If not I may have to phone that flaming hospital and 'calmly' inquire about my baby sister!!! ;o)
Please continue to pray, I'll be as soon as I know more.

I come to you all asking for prayer for my sister. She was just rushed via ambulance to the hospital. She is just being prepared for emergency appendectomy, she is 5mo along in her pregnancy.
Having gone through this myself at 12wks along while pg with Alyssa, I'm confident things will go very smoothly.

Happy December 1st!!!!
H~E~L~L~O!!!
Whew, okay you know what I'm going to say, don't you???LOL Yes, BUSY!
It's only going to get busier as time marches on, so much baking and wrapping and baking and visiting and baking.....did I mention baking??
This is my FAVORITE time of year, I have my Christmas candles lit, Christmas music playing (I LOVE listening to my CD that Misty sent me last year, I listen to it over and over and sometimes I just put song#1 on repeat!!LOL) It's called angels and it's by Mary beth Carlson. We of course have the Disney DVD of Christmas carols playing as well!!
Everyone is doing pretty good, I'll give brief updates on everyone below in a sec.
Bill & Me
We're doing really good, Bill has been having some frustrations at work, but overall he's doing good. I'm doing pretty good too. Having some issues with sleep again *sigh* But what can you do? I just plug along and use my pain meds as needed, which thankfully isn't that often!! Nothing like before!!
Parents and In-laws
Well, my Mom is doing pretty good considering. She was very sick and developed a fever this time while sobering up, not good. She's still awaiting an appointment to get in for her CT scan, hopefully very soon.
Bill's Mom is doing so-so. The poor woman has had umpteen complications since surgery. Mostly drainage, but more recently a blood clot in her lung. Apparently they (the docs) are waiting to see if the Heparin(sp?) will dissolve the clot (this was the last I'd heard)
Kandie & Brad
Well, praise be to Him they are going to be blessed with a little BOY!!!!
Hurray!!!
The other good news......on the 29th they are moving into the townhouses where Bill and I first started out and the greatest thing....it's about a 20min walk away from me!!!!!!!!WHOOHOO!!! I am so EXCITED!!!!!!!
Alex
He's been a bit bonkers lately. I'm trying to cut out preservatives and artificial colors and such out of his diet (the other kids too) but boy oh boy is THAT expensive! We have an appointment on the 13th with the specialist, so we'll see how that goes. He's developed two new twitches which have made doing some of his school work difficult (Praise the Lord for homeschooling) one has been off and on in his hand and the other has been ongoing with eyes/face. The more angry or excited he get's, the more prominent they are. His poor little mouth is just filled with canker sores right now, so I may have Bill take him tomorrow afternoon to see if there is something else I can put on them to ease the pain.
He's doing fabulous grade wise in school. I've been given permission to right Alex's answers for him because of his eyes doing wonky things to him. But he pulled in with three B's (all of which were within a one to three percent margin of being A's) and one A!!!
He's VERY excited to being let out on school holidays a week earlier than most kids!
He also had a wonderful birthday and is happy to be 9.....finally!!!LOL
Mama's a little sad to see her firstborn growing up.......this past month he has started using deodorant.....*sigh*
Alyssa
WOW! My goodness has she ever done some growing up, emotionally!!! She has been showing such kind and wonderful ways lately. She is almost always eager to please and do her school work, most often without my asking. She also has been enjoying decorating for the holidays and of course the baking!!!
She is doing amazing with her schooling and managed to pull in Straight A's!!!
She has a hard time taking a day off and can often be found still doing a worksheet or two long after school is over!!LOL
She still hasn't lost that tooth and will not let me near it. I'm afraid it will fall out in her sleep!!!LOL
She's eagerly awaiting her birthday and is anxious to be seven.
Robbie
Here's another one who has been busy growing up!! We had to stop Robbie's OT and PT therapy due to Bill's shift change, but he's been doing wonders with us at home and should be starting on speech in January. He has been doing SO well in school it's amazing!!! Right now, he has mastered to read simple words and do phonetics all on his own. He has also mastered adding and subtracting using his fingers up to the number 10. After being evaluated by Mrs. Seamans, Robbie will be registered in Grade one next year, but will be doing the grade two curriculum.......because he's doing some of it now as well as a lot of the grade one stuff!!
Robbie's big news was that he finally has his own room now!! I sectioned off a corner in the basement (where he and Alyssa shared and Alex's room is) that is now his very own area!! He was ever so happy to have this, because bless her heart, Alyssa is a slob!! Robbie is a far cry from that and has his room set in a very straight and orderly manner.
Kayla
Kayla has been busy too. She's doing really well with her numbers and letter recognition as well as learning to draw shapes. Her most favorite activity is cutting and let me tell you she will cut for HOURS and leave a massive mound of teeny tiny white squares all over the floor!!!LOL
She is slowly cutting back on her bottle (I'm in no hurry, what's the point?!?!?) I think she has maybe one or two, mostly when she's tired. We're no where near cutting out the suckie though!!!LOL
She has discovered a love for the outside, just like her older brother (Alex) and many times after school her and Alex are happy to go out and play.
Mariah
My baby is really turning into a toddler now, at 18mos she has a mind of her own and has no fear of letting her desires be known!!! She is such a happy little one though and walks around offering hugs to all her siblings and then slobbers them with wet kisses!! (which they all declare as gross and disgusting....uh-huh....that's why they giggle and ask for more!!LOL)She understands everything I say to her, and talks non-stop and repeats almost everything I say. Especially if I'm giving the olders a STERN talking to!! I love it how she has to tuck everyone in before she'll go to bed peacefully, she's a girl who likes her routine. First we say night-night to Alyssa (hug and kiss, see you in the morning, I love you), then we go onto Robbie, then onto Alex and then we head upstairs to tuck Kayla in. The Mariah will be ready for sleepies. Her and I have a special routine as well, a big hug in which her little fingers play with my hair (which is usually in a ponytail) and I tell her the same things we told her siblings, then she gives my three kisses (everytime!!) one on each cheek and then the lips, then she falls asleep tucked all sweetly into her bed.
She's reaping a lot from the homeschooling as well, she is able to count to four now, and knows the letter 'A'. She's also getting pretty good with the colors blue and yellow and drawing circles!!
Well, that about wraps things up! Now I have to head on over to the kitchen and clean up...ick! I was being lazy tonight. I'm wondering if I'm coming down with a cold and good 'ol AF is due here pretty quick....add onto the fact that my legs are sore....blech!
Anyways, I will try to be back in bewtween!
Take care and God's blessings to you all this wonderful time of year!!
Whew, okay you know what I'm going to say, don't you???LOL Yes, BUSY!
