~Potatoes~
For the past few days, I've been smelling this really rank, funky smell coming from 'somewhere' near my counter in my kitchen.
I mean, it was really bad. Yesterday I cleaned off all my counter tops and bleached everything, even the backsplash. I wiped down all my counter top appliances. I could not for the life of me figure this out!!LOL So, then I thought cupboards! So I began washing and cleaning out all of my cupboards. My first stop was the 'spinning cupboard' you know those cheesy lazy susan type cupboards, the one where someone always slams their fingers in it?!?!? The smell was really bad in there, but earlier this week I had already washed down the two shelves in there. (I keep my canned stuff in there)Then I had a thought....I looked down UNDERNEATH the bottom shelf and WAAAYYYY behind there is this un-recognizable small lump of something. So I was brave, and put on my rubber gloves and got out a large, long wooden spoon. After a short while of being careful not to fling at myself, I managed to get it out.
EWWWWWWWW!!!! It was a rotten potato!!!! EWWWWWWWWW!!!! I haven't stored my potatoes in there since like, October!!! YUCK!! That was so foul and nasty. BLECH!!
Thankfully, it's all better now and the rank offender is gone and my kitchen no longer smells.
********************************************************
Tidbits from yesterday:
I looked over at Alex(the 9yo) playing Xbox, sniffing his armpits....
ME: What are you doing?
HIM:did you know that my pits smell like wet potato chips?
ME:no, actually I didn't, but don't you think you should go put your deodarant on?
HIM: no actually I like the smell, it reminds me of salt and vinegar chips
ME:what about the rest of us?
HIM: Oh it's alright, I'll let you guys have a turn smelling them too.
Ugh, I guess I should be thankful he offered to share his stench.
Last night Kayla and I were discussing family dynamics:
KAYLA: Daddy is your broder?
ME: No, daddy is my husband, not my brother
KAYLA:Lyssa is my sistor
ME:Yes, Lyssa is your sister
KAYLA:Adex and Obbie are my broders?
ME:yes, Alex and Robbie are your brothers.
KAYLA: Kayla is your dollar?
ME: yes, kayla is my daughter
KAYLA: Daddy is your broder?
*SIGH* We'll get there eventually........my luck she'll announce that comment when I have some skeptical person eyeing my family while we're out somewhere......."Mommy, Daddy is your broder"..uh yeah and if I didn't get stared at enough already and glared at...LOL!!!
Have a blessed day!!

Our Morning Routine!!
Okay, so both Chris over at the Big Yellow House and Carmen over at Mom to the Screaming Masses have decided to write up their morning routines for today's Wednesday Essay and heading Chris invitation, I figured I'd climb on board and bore you all to tears with my morning routine, with the five kiddo's, because it is a question that I get asked, oh let's say every few days!! By both cyber people and real life people (not saying that you cyber people aren't of the human group!!LOL)
So anyways, here it is!!
6am:Usually all the kiddo's are up between this time and 6:30. Some mornings (like today) they're up at 5:30am. I try to stay in bed until Mariah wakes up, but it's hard when kids come strolling in to ask questions and to tattle or give me a picture. Most mornings and what is posted on our schedule is that they are to read quietly until 7am, or draw or do puzzles....but you know how it is!! I get up shortly before 7am MOST mornings (although lately it's been at 6am) and do my morning routine, not that I get much 'bathroom time', so I usually just toss my hair in a pony, brush my teeth and splash some water on my face and throw on some deodorant and mascara (what a combo, eh?)everyone's clothes are all laid out at night for the next day (yes, even mine!!LOL)so everything is ready to go for them after.....
7am:This is when we start breakfast if they haven't already gotten theirs earlier. This is when I make a nice BIG pot of coffee and fill my sink with hot soapy water for the morning dishes. My guys (like Carmen's) LOVE their hot breakfasts, so we have eggs, or toast or French Toast that I have pre-made in the freezer or pancakes. Their all time favorite and the usual is Oatmeal and fruit and yogurt. Cold cereal is always available, and someone usually has a bowl of some along with their hot breakfast. Then we get cleaned up and all the dishes get tossed into the sink to soak. (because stuck on oatmeal really is not fun!!)Everyone is also supposed to get hair and teeth brushed afterwards and then get dressed.
8am:This is when the kids do a quiet activity or clean their rooms if needed. Beds get made and so on. For me, this is when the two little girls I look after arrive and then I get my first load of laundry of the day in the washer. I put the finishing cleaning touches on the kitchen and get my 'control journal' out and take a peek of what the day entails. This has all my 'stuff' in it, my to do list, and most importantly what we're doing in school today and what each child needs to complete. It also has any phonecalls I need to make and all that great stuff.
At 8:30, the school aged little girl leaves for school and I start getting all the school stuff organized (and make another big mug of coffee!!) for......
9am:Time for school!!! And we slowly make our way into our school stuff for the day!! If hubby is on days (like right now) he's usually left at some point during the morning kafuffle, after I get everyone set up in their work, I try to sneak on here and read and write in blogs, answer emails. If hubby is on nights, well he's usually sleeping and I can't get on the 'puter until later in the afternoon. (our 'puter is in our bedroom)
So, there it is!! Not that exciting hey?!?! It's basically the same every morning. Of course there's always the fights and the "I can't find this or that", but it's pretty basic!!
Have a blessed day!! I must go and supervise academics...*grin*

Had to share this with y'all
Miss maggie has written a beautiful essay on Submission, biblically.
She has put into words how I live my marriage, and I want you to read it if you ever wondered what TRUE submission is and how it is done. I know some women think to themselves, "Are you insane??" I am a woman in the 21st century, why on earth would I allow my husband to be 'in charge'...well.....here's something for you to read!!!
Enjoy!! and thank you so much Miss Maggie!!
What is Biblical Submission
God bless!!

Update on Kayla
So, it's for sure. Kayla has another UTI. Daddy took her in this afternoon and they did a dipstick test. They also sent iit off to the lab to be cultured. She's on Septra (praise the Lord for this drug!!!) unless something else shows up in her urine.
~Kayla at the doctors this afternoon~
So, hopefully in the next 24 hrs, she'll be feeling much better!!
Have a blessed evening!!

Is it Friday??
I know my famous last words!!LOLOL!!
So, not much happening around here. We had a nice weekend, although the kids have been in a foul mood since Sunday. Yesterday was a treat....NOT!!
Bill went for his MRI yesterday and discovered that no, they are not fun. Now we just have to wait for the results. Either Bill or I need to take Kayla in to the clinic today, I'm pretty sure she has another UTI. It's been awhile since she's had one. I ended up with today off because the little girls I look after are still sick. So far we've escaped the bug, but I think we may run out of luck eventually!!
My sister came over for a visit last night, she had baked some cookies and brought them to share...YUM!! I also did something last night that I have never done before!! I VOTED!! I'm nowhere near a political buff, but figured it was high time I exercised my right to vote.
Well, I need to get started on my day, it seems a *little* less intense than yesterday, but it's a close toss up!!!
Have a blessed Tuesday!!

A Prayer
I wanted this one to be ontop of the other post so it would be seen first.
Dear God,
One month ago today you allowed a special blessing to emerge from his Mama. You allowed a Mama and Daddy experience a birth for the first time. Although you took this precious blessing home before we all had the chance to get to know him. We are still sad and we still cry, but we're at peace. We thank you for the little bit of time you did allow Hunter, and the special time you gave his Mama with him. We thank you for the lessons and legacy his little life left in our hearts forever.
I often think of Hunter, what could've been how it should've been. He would've been one month old today, this day should've been marked in his baby journal, but instead we will just spend the day remembering him and what he taught us. So Lord, I ask of you for today, please give us all some peace and comfort knowing that baby Hunter is safe and warm snuggled in your arms. Please give us strength and courage like baby Hunter showed us. Please lead us from the thoughts of anger and allow our hearts to fill with your love. Please give Kandie and Brad the strength and the comfort they need to go on. PLease cover them with your love and flood them with your comfort.
Amen.
For today, please hug all your children, be it one or fifteen, a little tighter. For today, please read them that extra story. Be patient, even if you have to listen to the same story that your three year old is telling you. Life is to precious and fragile, don't waste it being angry or frustrated!!
Have a blessed day everyone and hugs and kisses and love to you my precious nephew, Auntie still has tears falling for you!!!

Should I be happy or embarrassed????
OKay so I found this on Mama's Journal

Guess I'm a nerd!!LOL I always knew I was sort of geeky and odd....now my sister can say "I told you so!!" Just for the record, I would like to say that I am a COOL, nerd!!! ROFL!!!
In other news,
Guess what I get to do tonight?!?!?!?!
I get to go and get GROCERIES!!!!!!WHOOHOO!!!*doing the happy dance*
I'm so durned excited, I just might break out in a tune and bring out the American....errrr....Canadian Idol in me!!!
My wonderfully brave sister is coming with me!!!Isn't she wonderful?? I mean she'll get stuck pushing the other cart!! :o) I'm so lucky!!!(See Kandie, I say nice things about you!!LOL)
Thankfully it seems as though my tummy bug....I'm beginning to wonder if it was just a real bad attack from my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) I mean I scrub my hands and the bathroom to try and contain the virus to just myself, but that is a really hard thing to do and no one else has gotten sick (not that I want anyone too!!!!!) All the symptoms seem to fit.....I haven't had one that bad before and I don't care to have one like that again!!!LOL Alrighty, enough about my gastrointestinal system!!!LOL
Well, I have to get the kids going on their Math and then onto Social Studies and I thing that'll do it today, phonics for Alyssa and Robbie and Kayla though. Even Mariah is joining in on the phonics now, she makes an awesome 'EE' sound!!!
I'm REALLY going to try and get back on to post my grocery list for tonight on here and I REALLY want to 'fix up' that webpage...it's been neglected!!LOL But better the webpage than my house!!! :o)
Blessings!!

What does a 9yo do with an eraser he no longer needs???
Anyone???
I'll tell you what he does, he launches it in his ear, cause you know, that's the best place to shove something when you no longer need it!!
I thought it strange when Alex kept asking me questions yesterday afternoon about people putting things in their ears and what could happen.
Finally, after he had asked for like the third time, I got a little suspicious!!
Sure enough, there was an eraser chunk filling his ear canal, and of course he must've tried to dig it out because it was really smushed in there. I tried to see if I could get it out, but I wasn't gonna mess around with his ear. So Bill got to take him to the clinic and have it removed....LOL!!
I'm feeling a bit better and just wanted to let everyone know (because I was bombarded with emails!!!LOL) Definitely not pregnant....Definitely!! AF just dropped by on the 10th and my days are typically 32-33 days, so nope!! I'm pretty sure it's a bug, and I've been on a bleach frenzy so as to hopefully not get anyone else sick, that and scrubbing my hands!!LOL Thankfully, I've managed to prevent any barfing. And I will leave it at that because this post could turn really gross in a split second and I really don't want to gross any of you out!!!LOL
My sister came over last night to do her laundry. I LOVE having her so close!! Seriously, I know some families can't stand some of their family members and siblings, but not me!! I adore my sister and I think it's really nice that we can have a relationship now as sisters, instead of the mother/sister one that was apparent when I lived at home. We are so different and yet very much alike!!
Please keep them in your prayers, days are still hard and nights are even more so. Especially when Brad is up north.
Well, I'm off to attempt having some sort of a productive day and praying for no one to be launching any miscellaneous items in orifices!!!
Have a blessed Wednesday!!

Gravol anyone??
UGGGHHHHHHH!!! Can you hear me moan???
I feel so icky, it's just not funny, not that you would laugh at me anyways, right?!?!? I don't what happened, I was perfectly fine until last night around 6:30pm, I suddenly got sick...stomach sick....YUCK!!
I can't stand feeling nauseous (not that I've ever met anyone who DID!!) so I took some gravol and that seemed to help. I don't think it's anything I ate, because the kids and Bill would've been sick too since we all ate the same things over the past day or two. Well, whatever it is, hopefully it leaves...SOON!!!
So, for today, I am in survival mode. Just get done what is necessary and that's about it. Which unfortunately, is pretty much everything I normally do!! Oh well, thankfully Bill is home by lunchtime today and the rest of the week.
Hmmmm, just got a phonecall from the dad of the little girls I look after......he was asking ME if his oldest had gone to school because apparently she was up most of the night with an earache???Um, the mom didn't say a word to me this morning and if she was in the much pain I sure as heck am not going to keep her HERE all day...sheesh....I'm trying to keep myself in line!!
Well, time to get school going and make another mug of ginger tea........
Have a blessed day!!

Happy Monday!!
We had a nice visit with Kandie and Brad last night, he leaves today....poor Kandie!
The weather has been pretty decent lately, not too cold. On Saturday night it snowed, just about an inch or two. I hope our winter stays like this, I love winter but not so much the -40C weather!!LOL
On my agenda today:
School for the morning and finish up the laundry this afternoon. I'm still trying to play catch-up from Christmas.
Praying that Bill's workers comp comes REAL soon so I can get groceries REAL soon!!LOL I'm putting the finishing touches on my master list and then I will post it. I'm amazed at how many of you love my grocery lists!!!*giggle* Although, I understand because I'm just as intrigued by other Mama's and their lists and menus!!!LOL
That's about it for today, other than my usual stuff!! Bill will be home early, because of him only doing half days, so that's nice.
We had a 'date' on Friday night, it was really nice. We went out for dinner and chatted and laughed. We were going to see a movie, but by the time we got there the movie had already began, so we just came home and hung out and visited with my sister and Brad, so it all worked out.
Saturday night was family night and it was good too. We had yummy pepperoni pizza and watched our movie.
Well, I'm slow moving again today, so I better get up off my rear and get this day in action!!!LOL
Have a blessed day!!

Happy Lord's Day!!!
How has it been so far?
Not much to update on, just plugging along. My sister and Brad are coming over tonight, Brad head's back up north tomorrow.
Bill had a drs appt on Friday, not the greatest of news....he's only being allowed to work half days now. He also has to go in for a CT on his spine, the doc feels something isn't right in there. I'm praying he doesn't need surgery. Nothing as of date from workers comp. They did send a check for the first two days that Bill had missed, so Bill went and picked up a few things from the grocery store. It drives me bonkers doing a bit of shopping here and there. I honestly believe you spend more money and more time. Unfortunately, we have no other choice right now.
I am in the process of building my Master grocery list and I will make it available on my food blog as well as for my group members. If your a group member, you'll be able to download and snag your own copy! I'm also working on my Master Menu list and I will do the same deal with that.
Well, for a brief update on my mother.......so she came home from the hospital the Wednesday morning and guess what she did Wednesday night????? Yup, she ordered more alcohol. *smacks forehead* SHEESH!!! So, I'm not sure what is going to happen. She won't talk to me when she's in this state, but I think I'm going to have to get tougher and rather than just 'ignore' this whole binging garbage, I'm going to tell her that she is not welcome around my kids or at my house until she can get herself together. This is just to emotionally destructive on the kids, most of all because they don't know what the heck is going on and I'm really tired of lying to them every few weeks.
I will tell her that I still want to talk to her and that I'm there for her, but I'm not allowing it to take over my family anymore.
There have been a few times this past couple of weeks I have thought that running full force, head first into a brick wall might help!!!LOL
Seriously, how much can one person's brain handle??? I know God will not give me more than I can handle, but I'm beginning to think He's confused!!!
Sooooo, if you can add us onto your prayer list, I would be ever so grateful and appreciative!!
Well, off to switch the laundry and vacuum the living room and get dinner started (Spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic toast)
Have a blessed evening!!

Moving s-l-o-w-l-y today
Could somebody PUHleeeease send me some motivation because mine has clearly wandered off somewhere!!!
This must be a fibro-fog because I feel worse than a blonde normally does....worse than a blonde space cadet...worse...well you get the drift. Not too mention the fog that comes with being pre=menstrual...ugh
It should be an interesting school day!!LOL
Not much else going on. Brad comes back tonight, so Bill will be grabbing him from the bus station when his bus comes in. Kandie is excited and rightfully so!! She had a rough night last night, poor girl. So much emotional stress...oh yeah...not to mention that my mother phoned her on Tuesday night all drunk and telling her all this stuff about how she had lost a baby (my mom miscarried at 12wks when she was 17) and THEN tells her that she's in a lot of pain and her stomach is swollen and THEN says "Whatever happens, I love you girls, always remember that" SHEESH and THEN, my mom drops the phone and it goes silent....welllll...what would one think?!?!?!
So my poor sister tries calling her back, but of course it goes straight into voice mail because she hasn't actually HUNG up the phone. So this is the point where my sister calls me, we decide that Kandie will call the police and have them go check things out. The police do and amazingly my mom had answered the door (I didn't think she would) they see the trouble she's in and call the paramedics, who then transport her to the hospital. Anyways, long story short, she was back home on Wednesday morning saying that she really needs to get into counseling. Apparently, according to my mother, the docs said that her pancreas is swollen. A more logical scenario that I believe happened...she checked out of the hospital A.M.A as soon as she started to sober up a bit and realize that they were going to be doing tests.
So, who knows what is going to happen with that deal. *sigh* My sister did go up to the hospital to see her when she arrived, but came home shortly after.
Bill's lower back is doing a little better, he goes to see the doctor tomorrow, but now his upper back has been bothering him. We received a little bit of money from workers comp for two days...but we really need the $$$ from the week Bill lost. I'm praying it arrives today or tomorrow....we really need to get some groceries!!!
Oh, I added another link just below the FlickR link. It has some of my OLD pics in it back from when I was pg with Mariah...*giggle*
Well, let's see, it's now almost 10am and I started this around 9am!!LOL
Hopefully it makes sense!!
Have a blessed Thursday!!!

F~R~I~D~A~Y............hurray!!!!
Although, I'm not as excited as I normally am. Bill has been home all week, and it's the last day of winter break for my guys which means it's back to school work on Monday. They've had three weeks off, I'm sure it's going to be a challange!!LOL
Well, it's 8:30am here and I'm scarfing back some cinnamon oatmeal and a glass of milk, I have a lot I want to get done today. Bill should be back any second now (he had physio at 7am) and then I can give him his chores for the day!!LOL
The two little girls I look after arrived about 15min ago and the littlest one is already asleep. Sheesh! Don't even let me get started on this family!!LOL
Well, have a blessed Friday, I'm off to tackle laundry and bathrooms and kitchen and living room!!
My sister is coming over tonight to do some of her laundry and she's bringing her new puppy to visit as well. Can't wait!!!
Blessings!!

Have a blessed evening!!
Hello!!
Well,I had a few minutes to spruce things up around here! I've added a link to join my Yahoo! group, it's just something I thought I might try to keep family/friends/cyber sisters up-to-date. If you would like to join, just click on the link and I will approve/not approve your request *grin*
We're all hanging in there. Still my emotions get the better of me and catch me off guard. Same with my sister. Brad has gone up north for work for the next couple of weeks, so she's feeling a little lonely. Bill has taken her to help her get her puppy today, so that is exciting!! She's adopting him from the S.P.C.A He's a 9mo old rottie/sheppard cross and is just a sweetie. His name is Rio!!
Bill injured his back at work the day of the funeral (the 27th) and there has been so much red tape with his work/drs/Workers comp, it's disgusting. So here we sit waiting for the workers comp money to come so I can, you know, pay some bills and uh, buy some food. I'm so mad at Bill's work it takes everything from me not to phone them and just yell for five minutes.
My mother is on yet another binge....*sigh* I guess she felt strong enough to hold on until after my sister moved down here to my end of the city.
Well, I must get my butt off of here, I've been on a little longer than I intended!!! ;o)
Please check out This site
She has awesome information that you will LOVE, I promise!!!!!
PLease keep us all in your prayers, so much going on..............
