Morning sickness?!?!?! HA!!!!

I laugh at the term, why, you are asking yourself, because it should be called ALL-DAY-NAUSEA-THAT-WILL-DRIVE-YOU-INSANE!!LOL

I can tell you all right now that it is a VERY safe bet to say that this little bean is a BOY! I would even be confident enough to say that if I am wrong I will lick a metal pole in the winter!!LOL

I only get this nauseous with my boy pgs, and just for the fun of it, yes I have been wrong before about the gender of my babies........ONCE!!!LOL Poor Robbie spent 35 weeks of his prenatal life being called a her and a she and a baby girl. I even went so far as to put all baby girl clothes in 'his' dresser and pack newborn baby girl clothes for the hospital trip. The only reason I found out was because I was having some pretty strong braxton hicks contractions and I was measuring big, so the doc wanted me to go for an ultrasound to check on things in there, mostly the amniotic fluid levels. Well, while I'm laying there I'm asking the tech if 'SHE' is alright and how is 'SHE' doing and she is getting a very strange look on her face and I am beginning to get a little nervous. So, I ask if everything is alright and she says "Um, yes the baby is alright, but were you told you are having a girl?" I answer "Oh no, the baby wouldn't cooperate so I'm going on my intuition, why?" she says "Well, your baby girl has testicles!!" I couldn't believe it!! I was wrong!!!
And only had about 2 weeks to figure things out!!LOL

But, that was the only time, every other time I've been right. In hindsight, I should've known that Robbie was a boy, it was such a boy pg. I had horrible morning sickness (but not terrible like some women I know, I don't throw up or VERY seldom with mine, just nauseous and watery mouthed)I had a clear face, my belly didn't pop out sooo quickly and my boobs were in excruciating pain!!LOL All which was there with Alex too!

My girls make me pop right out and my boobs aren't so bad, but my face looks like the moon with all it's craters!!LOL

So, if the past predicts the future, this little blessing is a boy and I am perfectly content with that! :o)
It's been awhile since I've had a baby boy and been peed on!!LOL

Thankfully my morning sickness peaks in the afternoon and evening, but it's tolerable in the morning, so I'm able to get school done, dinner ready and anything else that requires bending/smelling/concentrating!!LOL
Also, my morning sickness usually dissipates around weeks 10-12, so only another 6 weeks tops to go....I can do it!!! It's all for a good reason!! now if only Bill would stop making fun of me, he thinks morning sickness is hilarious...yeah I know....real funny. I think what made him find it so funny is because when I was pg with Alex we stopped for some gas and I was waiting in the car while Bill pumped. The smell of the gasoline and all the exhaust was too much so I flung open the door and heaved and chucked in one of those garbage cans that are between the pumps. Of course it would be a busy Saturday afternoon, and of course I don't puke quietly.....ugh....I was so embarrassed!!LOL Ever since then Bill reminds me of that day and how FUNNY it was.....yup.....one of these days!!!!LOL

Some how I have to make it to get some groceries this Saturday, I have no idea how I'm going to pull it off. I would order, but I really need to get into a store and I think I'm going to try and hit Superstore. So we'll see what happens!!

Oh and Mariah has her 18mo vax's on Thursday, that ought to be fun!! I am curious to see how much she weighs tho, we still have her in her rear facing car seat! I'm not in any rush to switch her either. I think she might be around a 14-15 month old size in weight and height, but we'll see!!

Well, I'm off to finish up a few things and maybe try some electrolytes to beat this nausea......I really need Salt 'n' Vinegar chips....those are my all time nausea buster...but I don't have any...boohoo. :o(

Have a Great Tuesday and God Bless!!!

I have a squirmy-non-sleeping Mariah on my lap right now.....yes it is after 10pm and yes this is odd for her....I'm blaming the molars she's working on!!!

OH!! I LOVE THIS!!!!!!

You must read this!!! If you're a homeschooler or want to be or think it's crazy....this is for you!!!

No thank you! We don't believe in Socialization!!

I love the fact that we homeschool more and more everyday, the thought of putting my kids back in school EVER makes me queasy. It brings complete joy to my heart WATCHING my children learn the way they were meant to. I love to see Alyssa curled up on the couch with Robbie helping him with his reading. I love to watch them do a science project and discover new things. Or when we read a novel and then sit down and discuss it TOGETHER!!! Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about it, I wake up excited each morning and feel so blessed that I am able to watch my children learn and grow and be by their side the whole time. When they ace a test, I can give them a big hug and they get an immediate response from their mother. When they are struggling, I am there to help guide them and show them different ways to solve the problem, with our families morals and beliefs.
I love how they are not influenced by peers or have to deal with peer pressure, be what it may. They are safe in the comforts of their home and they are better people because of it.

Thank you everyone for all the congrats and emails!! I am so excited and feel so blessed!!

Have a great Tuesday!!
God bless!!

A Controversial Post

Normally I like to keep things as light as possible around here, but this just got to me and really broke my heart and spirit.
I was over visiting A Place to Grow
and read a wonderful post by Scooby. She also included a link about this.

I am appalled. I have never read any of the Pearl's books, although I too have been tempted to read Created to be His helpmeet. I have been to their website and have read excerpts from their books. I am not against spanking. We spanked Alex when he misbehaved, but now I realize it was just who he was and having the disorders he has. None of my other children have been spanked, Alyssa, maybe once, but I honestly cannot remember. They are well behaved children (most of the time!!LOL) but I find natural consequences MUCH more useful. If you run in the house, you will practice walking in the house. I also will have the children write lines if needed or they will earn extra chores for a sassy tongue. Most times, time out, is very effective here. If you talk or bug someone or don't stay on the chair, your time starts at the beginning again.

I also will remove privileges and take away toys, these they MUST earn back. I believe giving them these tools are much more beneficial, that just resorting to spanking. Children need to learn coping skills and resolution skills, they also need to learn there are consequences for both good and bad actions, this is a fact of life, even as adults. If I am training my children to grow into respectful, considerate and helpful adults, then, these are the tools they need.

Yes, even an 18mo, heck even a 12mo can grasp the concept of NO. Yes, it will take a few times and yes you will have to repeat yourself, but isn't that what we signed up for when we chose to be parents? God has blessed us with a very important job, to raise up children in His name. Yes, obedience is very important, but 'beating' it into them is not required. We should never set up our children to fail, simply so we can 'teach' them it's wrong (as is implied and shown in the Pearl's books) rather we should take the opportunity to teach them as the situation occurs, because no matter what, our children will make mistakes even if we tell them the right way or the better way to do things.

All this to say, that unfortunately for this little boy he was at the mercy of a deeply twisted vision of discipline, which in the end took his life. Many children are the victims of abuse everyday and many children perish at the hands of people they love, it's just so sad and needless. Children are a blessing and should be loved and nurtured and yes, disciplined, but not this way and certainly not with a piece of plumbing material and in the name of our Lord.

May Sean rest in peace and may justice prevail with his murderer.

Hug your children a little tighter today (and everyday!!!)....I know I will be!
God bless!

Happy Friday!!!

Whew! I think I'm all ready for Spring now around here!!LOL

As you've probably noticed as well, we are expecting!!! I am SOOOOO excited!!
The kids are too, actually they're REALLY excited and telling everyone they see!!LOL
This little bean is due to arrive around Nov.22nd, however because I am usually induced, it will most likely be the Saturday before that.

I can tell you, it is amazing how quickly you forget just how TIRED you get!!LOL
Other than that, I feel real good. If I am to get morning sickness, it usually makes it debut sometime around 6wks and usually hits me at night.

I'm pretty pleased, I managed to get three shirts and one pair of jeans, all maternity for 97.00 CAD. They are all from Old Navy and Thyme and all are brand new with tags!!Whohoo!!I told the lady that I would be back in a couple weeks (got to save up again!!!LOL) to get a few more items. I also have to get poor Mariah some spring/summer clothes!!!LOL The poor kids has nothing!!LOL At least she is finally out of her 12-18mth stuff, she can still wear a few things that are 12mos though!!LOL
But mostly she's into the 18-24mth sizes, it's about time since she's going to be *2* in May!!! We go for her shots on the 30th. I'm so glad I postponed her immunizations, and of course we will skip out on the 'POXIE' shot!!!

All the other kids are doing great, finally getting over their various virus's!
I will have to go through their closets soon to and see what they have and what they need. I usually do all the kids one at a time and take inventory of what they need and I start with the youngest. I give myself a few days to complete the process!!

I can't believe it's Spring already on Monday!! Not that you'd know it by looking outside here!!LOL

Well, I'm going to upload a couple pics into Flickr and then make myself a big yummy snack and park my butt in front of the TV!!
Have a great weekend!!
God bless!!
