Friday Photo Flashback

Well it's Friday again and you know what that means...time to step into the time travel machine and go back to the pre-digital days!!

I have two again and both are birthday pics...of me!!

Here's the 1st one:
1986

Tell me you love my stunning mullet!!! Yes, that was in fact a perm as well. Uh-huh, yup an 8yo had her hair permed. I am also wearing my equally stunning 'Get in Shape Girl' leotard that I had received for my birthday.

Next up:
1988 (my 10th birthday)

Yet again, we have a stunning hairdo and friendship bracelets to boot! This was also a dual birthday in which we were celebrating my sisters 3rd birthday. Good ol' Chuck E Cheeses!!
I can't seem to get over the ashtray sitting predominately in the bottom right hand corner of the photo. Nice.

And just for fun, a pic of my Daddy. This would've been 86/87. The man let ME do his hair!!lol
Good thing this wasn't an ongoing occurance at our house!

Love you dad. Miss you like crazy. Until we meet again one day.xoxo

This is Hilarious...not too far off from the truth either.....

hmmm, have you thinking yet?

What about a different blender concoction? One that includes fresh fruit and veggies? How about some sunshine and a Vitamin D supplement? Sounds much, MUCH better to me!!

Simple Yummy Smoothie
1 banana
1 handful of mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
1 handful strawberries
1 handful fresh spinach (2 is even better)
1 handful of peaches, pineapple and a few red grapes
enough OJ to make it smooth
Add a few drops of Echinacea if you take it and about a 1/4" sliver of Ginger

Blend away until smooth and enjoy!!
Using frozen fruit will yield a nice texture almost like a slushie, perfect for the kiddo's and feels awesome on a sore throat!!

Of course there a million and one different variations and so many combo's you can make, it's endless fun to see the different flavours you can create.

Have fun and get to know your blender a little!!

Blessings!

One of these years I'll NaBloPoMo......

One of these years anyways. I think this way come October. I know that NaBloPoMo is around the corner and I debate whether or not I can actually take on the challenge. I give full kudos to my fellow bloggers who are successful with it. It may not seem like an actual challenge, but truthfully, it is. Especially since a lot of us are mommy-ish type bloggers who have real families and a life behind the screen. Not too mention that a lot of are trying to find our misplaced brains come night time or end up cleaning something come naptime (naptime? what is this naptime you speak of??) or how on earth does one sit down and type something legibile while you have a heavy mantra of MOMMY CAN I? In the background. Or a nursling at the breast, or a toddler bouncing on your lap, or 'helping' you type on the keyboard, or all of those at the SAME time?

Technically I suppose I could backdate some posts and catch up, but that just doesn't seem fair and my goodness who knows what THOSE posts would consist of!

So, once again...maybe next year......

blessings!

Friday Photo Flashback

Friday Photo Flashback

Getting back on track here!!

This is 2001 during one of the MANY *Girls day out* we used to have with Bill's mama and usually his sister as well. This day though I believe Auntie Cherie was working and was unable to join us. There are so many memories of our precious days and they are even more precious now with the passing of this awesome woman. This day was so much fun, filled with laughs and chocolate sundaes! I miss those so very much.

This is myself, Alyssa and Bill's mama.

Thankyou Mom for all the wonderful memories and beautiful times we all shared.
♥♥I LOVE YOU ♥♥

Just another day

It is beautiful outside today, a gentle breeze and bright sunshine. I am listening and watching the kids laugh and chase each other around the park enjoying every second of it.  Playing games, chasing games no doubt! Tag is always a big hit around here...who could tire of endless rounds of Frozen Tag?!?!?

I have an annoying headache and random body aches, so what better thing to do than sip on tea and blog!!

We officially are fully decorated for Christmas! A bit earlier than normal with reagrds to the tree, but it couldn't be helped this year.  My mom bought us one as our family christmas present this year! What a perfect Christmas present I think!!
Now the fun can begin with our Christmas gift making!! I am soooo excited to get going on that! I do still need to buy a few things to make or help make the gifts, but mostly everything is handmade this year!!

Well, I have a gaggle of children that are heading this way, most likely in search of a drink and snack and then possibly some handheld microscopes to search for creepy things living in our backyard or perhaps a pixie or two!!!
Here's some pics of the last week or so...notcie the abrupt change in holidays!!lol I take down and start decorating for Christmas early the morning of the 1st of November! Normally though, Bill leaves for work in the morning with a Fall theme surrounding his house and comes home to Christmas...lol...it's pretty funny!!
Although the tree is a family affair, no one can miss that. I LOVE LOVE LOVE family traditions and can't get enough of them. They build such a sense of togetherness and unity in a family.

here's the promised pics:
