Nestle Boycott and Friday 5

It's time to step up, this is ridiculous! I'm not one who is always into boycotting, however when it could have the potential to save babies lives, I WILL. Who does Nestle think they are? I am in the process of researching the products and will be removing them from my home and no longer purchasing them. I refuse to have my money put towards a company that cannot follow the code to promote baby foods ethically.
Here is an original cut and paste copy of the email and you can also follow the link to get more information from the graphic on the right. If you cannot give up Nestle products (there are A LOT of them) then at least do it for the week.
****************************
As you probably know, I support the boycott of Nestlé products.

According the the World Health Organisation Authority (WHO) 1.5 million babies die every year as a result of inappropriate feeding. Despite this Nestlé continues to push its baby milks in breach of international standards.

Monitoring by groups on the ground around the world shows Nestlé is responsible for more violations than any other company. That's why it is singled out for boycott action.

If you don't boycott Nestlé already, I ask that you consider looking at the evidence and giving up Nestlé products for one week, at least.

Boycott groups around the world have declared 2-8 July to be International Nestlé-Free Week.

The boycott has forced some changes from the company, but it is still a long way from complying. Campaigners are also working for laws. Nestlé can comply when it is given no choice. It is not being asked to do something that is impossible, but without pressure it continues to put its own profits before infant health and mothers' rights.

You can find out more information and look at the evidence yourself on the Baby Milk Action website at:

http://www.babymilkaction.org/resources/boycott/nestlefree.html

You can sign up there to support the boycott.

It is important to tell Nestlé you will be boycotting it, whether it is just for the week, or until it accepts and acts on the plan put to it by boycott groups for saving infant lives.

You can telephone Nestlé on the freephone number
0800 00 00 30 or send a message via its website

If you do choose the right thing and boycott, TELL THEM! Tell them you will not support such un-ethical practices, practices that are endangering babies lives!!

FRIDAY 5

If you get the first choice of Monopoly tokens, which do you choose? If someone else chooses it first, which is your second choice?
My first choice is the iron, and second is usually the thimble

What’s a board game you are especially bad at?
Why, none of course!!! I guess the strategy type ones, like Risk

What board game are you particularly good at?
Question type ones, like Trivial Pursuit etc

How competitive do you get while playing board games or party games?
Not at all, I play to have fun and thats it. Winning is just a perk and I don't care either way. I guess I'm just not competitive

What’s your favorite board game? What’s a board game you can’t stand?
My favourite is Clue and Cranium and I can't stand Risk...go figure!!LOL

Well, not much on the go this weekend. Maybe some yardwork and a walk. Get some cleaning done today, but boy it has been hot.(okay, hot for ME, anything above 25 degrees Celsius and it's agony) I really would not want to go somewhere 'warm' as a holiday, except maybe Hawaii, but that is because of the geographical sightseeing aspect, not for the warmth!!LOL I'm the odd one who go away to ESCAPE the heat, not in search of it. I'm not sure why, maybe because of my aversion to sweat?!?!? I also start to feel sick when the temp creeps up, actually more like I morph into a crazed lunatic I guess would be a better description!!! Okay, enough of my whining!!LOL

Also, I am in the process of posting an enormous amount of stuff for sale!! Not on Ebay, just on my city's online used stuff. My Mom brought me over some stuff to sell and split with her. I've been busy inventorying everything and taking pics so they all correspond with each other. Then I bag everything up...tons and tons of clothes, purses, bags......good thing Matthew co-sleeps with us, his room looks like a second hand store!!LOL

Have a blessed Friday!!!
Penny
